Ark of taste Products

The Ark of Taste is a global online catalogue initiated by the Slow Food Movement, showcasing traditional, small-scale food products that are at risk of disappearing. It features unique fruits, vegetables, animal breeds, cheeses, breads, sweets, and cured meats that reflect the culture and history of their communities. Many of these foods are threatened by industrialization, changing diets, climate change, and the abandonment of rural areas. The Ark of Taste raises awareness about these risks and invites people to help protect this heritage by supporting local producers, rediscovering traditional foods, and, in the case of endangered wild species, limiting consumption to allow them to recover. In Saudi Arabia, the Ark of Taste began in 2021 with 60 registered products and has grown to 180 and counting, reflecting a strong commitment to protecting the country’s rich food biodiversity for future generations.
