Souda Coffee

Souda coffee beans grown in the mountainous area of Souda are renowned for their high quality due to the ideal climate in the highlands. It has a unique floral and fruity fragrance, and its flavor profile is often complex, with a balance of acidity and fruity notes, with hints of chocolate or nuts.

This coffee is grown at elevations up to 2,000 meters using traditional methods that rely on rain and mist for irrigation. Asir has cultivated coffee for centuries, especially in mountainous areas like Souda—one of the region’s oldest coffee-growing sites. Coffee farming here is a family tradition passed down for generations. Native Saudi coffee strains in Souda are over 300 years old and have been locally cultivated throughout their history.


Traditionally, the coffee beans are used to make Asiri-style Saudi coffee or to make husk coffee. Today, they are also used to prepare specialty coffee, including filtered coffees and espresso-based coffees.
