Al-Sarah Farm
"What began as a hobby for Mr. Waleed Al-Ghamdi has transformed into a dedicated mission to revive farming and preserve agricultural heritage at Al-Sarra Farm in the Baha region. With over 400 trees and a growing range of crops, the farm primarily champions native wheat strains — ancient grains central to agricultural identity.
Years of research and collaboration led to the discovery and cultivation of these heritage seeds, confirmed through laboratory analysis. Since late 2019, Al-Sarra has shared nearly two tons of ancient wheat seeds annually with other farms, encouraging sustainable practices by receiving a portion of the harvest in return.
Despite facing challenges like water scarcity and wildlife damage, the farm has expanded its offerings to include native oats, barley, lentils, flaxseeds, soybeans, and a variety of fresh vegetables. Moving forward, Al-Sarra Farm is committed to sustainable growth, honoring Saudi agricultural traditions while conserving natural resources."
